    Mnchowski lifts Oxford to win

    Oxford’s Shea Mnchowski helped lift the Oxford Chargers to a 6-3 win over Independence in their first game of the Oxford Spring Break Tournament at Edwin Moak Field. Mnchowski came on in relief of starter Parker Adamson and went on to log 4.2 scoreless innings. (March 16, 2010, Page 6A)

      Oxford starts season with meet win

      Oxford got its track season off to a great start as the boys and girls captured the Oxford Quad Meet Saturday at Bobby Holcomb Field. The Chargers had 12 first-place finishes, while the Lady Chargers won nine overall events. (March 15, 2010, Page 9)

        Five Chargers qualify for State

        Oxford High placed five lifters in next month’s MHSAA state meet after earning qualifying results in Friday’s Class 5A North Half championships at Ridgeland. Eleven lifters competed in the meet and OHS finished third as a team overall. (more…) (March 15, 2010)

          Oxford’s Blake ready for next step

          A chance to play college basketball the first year out of Oxford High at a small and inviting campus turned out to be too much of an opportunity for Brandon Blake to turn down. The OHS standout guard signed a scholarship ofer to play for NAIA Spring Hill today, ending a recruitment that really started to heat up towards the end of his senior season. (March 11, 2010, Page 7A)

            DeSoto Central SS steals show

            Led by Ole Miss signee Casey Greene, the DeSoto Central Jaguars defeated the Oxford Chargers 10-4 Tuesday night at Edwin Moak Field. Greene hit two home runs — including a grand slam in a six-run sixth inning — and drove in seven runs to lift the Jaguars past the Chargers, who had won three straight coming into the contest. (March 10, 2010, Page 10)

              Oxford wins one of two in Water Valley

              Oxford’s middle school baseball team won the first game of a middle school doubleheader with Water Valley 11-0 Monday evening. The two teams tied the second game 4-4. (March 9, 2010, Page 10)

                Oxford tennis tops Pontotoc

                Oxford’s tennis team rolled into spring break with a 6-1 win over Pontotoc on Monday. The Chargers also won their JV match, 6-1, over Pontotoc to remain perfect on the season. (March 9, 2010, Page 8)

                  Oxford baseball beats Amory, Hamilton

                  Oxford’s winning ways continued over the weekend with two impressive wins over Hamilton and Amory in the Amory Tournament. The Chargers beat Hamilton 7-2 and then turned around and defeated Amory 3-0 to win their third straight game. (March 8, 2010, Page 8A)

                    Oxford tennis sweeps Brookhaven, Laurel

                    The Oxford Chargers traveled to Brookhaven this past weekend and earned wins over Laurel and Brookhaven to run their match winning streak to 90 games. (March 8, 2010, Page 8A)
