OHS locks up region title on Senior Night

On a cold, subdued night at Bobby Holcomb Field, it was the return of a Charger stalwart that warmed up the Oxford faithful. After a month on the sideline with an injury, junior quarterback Jack Abraham made his return to help Oxford cap off Senior Night with a Region 1-5A championship. (November 2, 2014, Page 5B)

Chargers, Commodores have plenty to play for

Will it be a trick or a teat for the Oxford and Lafayette football teams tonight? The two area prep teams are preparing for their respective showdowns on All Hallow’s Eve. For the Chargers, they hope there is a treat in their bag by night’s when they host Center Hill with the chance to claim the Region 1-Class 5A title for the second consecutive season. The Commodores will be on the road looking out for any tricks from a winless Byhalia team that has plans of spoiling Lafayette’s chance for a perfect record in region play. (October 31, 2014, Page 6A)
