OHS baseball holding summer camp

Area youth baseball players are encouraged to learn more about the game through instruction from Oxford High coach Chris Baughman and his staff. The annual Oxford Charger baseball camp runs June 13-16 from a 8 a.m. to noon each day. Cost for registration is $100 and $110 on site. (more…) (June 7, 2011, Page 7)

      Cotton States League to open season on Saturday

      The BNA Bank Cotton States Baseball League is scheduled to start their third season Saturday with a triple-header beginning at 1 p.m. Several changes are in store for the collegiate wood bat league which plays its games at Legion Field at the New Albany Sportsplex.         Barber named Region 2-5A MVP

        Oxford senior Zac Barber was named Region 2-5A Most Valuable Player over the weekend by region coaches. Barber led the Chargers to the 5A North Half title series against Ridgeland as well as a 19-12 win. (more…) (May 31, 2011, Page 10)

          Game 2 between OHS-Ridgeland postponed until Saturday

          Tonight’s game between Ridgeland and Oxford has been postponed until Saturday at 6 p.m. The game will still be played at Oxford’s Edwin Moak Field. (May 13, 2011)

            OHS baseball team to honor Stasny

            The Oxford baseball will honor former superintendent Dr. Kim Stasny before tonight’s Class 5A playoff series opener against Neshoba Central. Stasny passed away on Wednesday after suffering complications from a brain tumor. The team will wear “KS” patches on their uniforms over the weekend, while fans will receive “KS” stickers. A moment of silence will also be observed before the game at Edwin Moak Field. First pitch in the series is set to begin tonight at 6.                 Oxford rallies to top Tigers in Game 1

                    No. 1 seed OMS Chargers defeat South Panola

                    Led by the pitching of right-hander Houston Roth and an abundance of offense the Oxford Middle School Chargers rolled past the South Panola Tigers 11-2 on Thursday at Edwin Moak Field.
