    Oxford Chargers holding tryouts

    Oxford head baseball coach Chris Baughman will be hosting tryouts on Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. The tryouts will be held at Edwin Moak Field for players entering the ninth grade through their 12th-grade year. (July 27, 2012, Page 7A)

          OHS, LHS teams clobber Cougars

          Oxford and Lafayette jump started the round robin portion NEMCABB Tournament in a big way Thursday at Edwin Moak Field.

          Lafayette defeated Oxford’s junior varsity squad 6-0 and then defeated South Pontotoc 11-1 in five innings.

          Oxford’s varsity then up-ended South Pontotoc 10-0 to conclude Day 1 of the Oxford Regional. (June 22, 2012, Page 6A)

            Brownlee, Hoggard joining coaching ranks

            The coaching tree from Oxford’s 2005 state championship baseball team has sprouted a few new branches.

                Chargers split with South Panola

                Oxford’s older summer baseball team split a road doubleheader with South Panola on Tuesday night. The Tigers defeated Oxford 7-1 in the first game, while Oxford shut out the Tigers 3-0 in the second. (more…) (June 13, 2012, Page 6)

                  Chargers holding baseball camp

                  The Oxford Chargers will host their annual summer baseball camp at the Oxford Park Commission’s Hank Aaron Triplex starting June 4. Children ages 5-14 are eligible for the camp, which runs daily from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $100. The camp will be instructed by the OHS coaching staff, led by head coach Chris Baughman.
