Chargers look to wipe the slate clean
RIDGELAND — Tonight’s second game of the MHSAA Class 5 North Half title series comes down to which team makes the fewest mistakes. If the Chargers are going to force a decisive Game 3 on Saturday, they will have to play a little cleaner than they did in the opener and get the timely hit that has helped the first two playoff series.
For the Ridgeland Titans, who travel to Edwin Moak Field for the second game, it will be about finishing what they started on Thursday in a 6-3 win over the Chargers. (May 13, 2011, Page 7A)

OHS baseball team to honor Stasny
The Oxford baseball will honor former superintendent Dr. Kim Stasny before tonight’s Class 5A playoff series opener against Neshoba Central. Stasny passed away on Wednesday after suffering complications from a brain tumor. The team will wear “KS” patches on their uniforms over the weekend, while fans will receive “KS” stickers. A moment of silence will also be observed before the game at Edwin Moak Field. First pitch in the series is set to begin tonight at 6. Confident Chargers looking for series win
Confidence is something the Oxford Chargers gained throughout the season as they won their way to a division title. The Chargers gained another measure of confidence last weekend in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs with a sweep of Hernando.
For OHS coach Chris Baughman, the key now is to keep that momentum rolling as they get set to take on Neshoba Central, the Chargers’ third-round opponent. (May 5, 2011, Page 6)

Oxford tames Tigers in 5A playoffs
Led by an outstanding pitching performance from senior Zac Barber and some timely hitting early and late, the Oxford Chargers were able to defeat Hernando 6-2 on Saturday afternoon and sweep the Tigers in their second round Class 5A playoff series.
Oxford, which defeated the Tigers 7-5 on Friday night at home, will now take on Neshoba Central in the quarterfinals of the 5A playoffs that begin on Friday night at OHS. (more…) (May 2, 2011, Page 1B)
Oxford rallies to top Tigers in Game 1

Oxford’s return to the playoffs will be against a familiar foe in Hernando. The best-of-three series begins Friday evening at 6.
