    Humane Society opens it long-awaited facility

      New animal shelter on the way

        Fundraising push for new animal shelter

        The Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society is $50,000 shy of its total fundraising goal to begin construction on a new animal shelter on McElroy Drive. The city and county have pledged 50 percent of the $600,000 that the building will cost. (January 7, 2010, Page 1)
