New districts get OK from DOJ
The Department of Justice has approved Lafayette County’s new district maps which needed changing after the 2010 Census showed a growth and shift in population. (May 21, 2013, Page 1, 14)
City voting wards reworked
The newly appointed Oxford Redistricting Committee reviewed a proposed redistricting map Wednesday. The map will be available online, www.oxfordms.net, or at City Hall for the public to view prior to a public hearing to be planned for sometime in June. The new map brings down Oxford’s deviation from the One Man, One Vote rule from 50.2 percent to 5 percent. (May 24, 2012, Page 1)
