    Ladner resigns as Lady Rebels’ head coach

    Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Renee Ladner stepped down from her position Friday.

    The Lady Rebels’ season was put to rest Thursday courtesy of a 67-47 loss to Arkansas in the Southeastern Conference Tournament. One day later, Ladner made official what many thought might be coming regardless. (March 5, 2012, Page 9A)

        Lady Rebs fall at Auburn

        AUBURN, Ala. — After the Ole Miss Rebels led by as many as 13 during the game, they saw the Auburn Lady Tigers take their first lead of the game with 1:51 remaining as the Lady Tigers came from behind to post the 46-43 win.

        With the loss, Ole Miss ended the regular season 12-17 overall and 2-14 in the Southeastern Conference while Auburn improved to 13-16 and 4-11 SEC. Ole Miss will be the No. 12 seed in this week’s SEC Tournament and play Arkansas Thursday night at 6:30 in the first round.

        Nikki Byrd led Ole Miss with 17 points while Valencia McFarland added 10. Danielle McCray recorded a team-best 10 rebounds.
        Hasina Muhammad led Auburn with 19 points in the victory. (February 27, 2012, Page 4B)

            Lady Rebels rally falls short against UA

            There were plenty of times Thursday evening the Ole Miss women’s basketball team looked lost.

            Against Alabama, the Lady Rebels floundered bad enough that at one point they trailed the Southeastern Conference’s last-place team by as many as 18 points after turning the ball over 19 times and allowing the visitors to cash in with 20 second-chance points.                 No. 6 UK wins in dominating fashion

                LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Already a key player down, Ole Miss could only watch the problems mount as Kentucky put on its most ferocious defensive display yet.
