      Insell adds two assistants to first staff

      BLOG: New Ole Miss head women’s basketball coach Matt Insell went to the Sun Belt Conference to get the first two members of his inaugural Lady Rebel staff in Alex Fuller and Todd Schaefer. Fuller comes to Ole Miss from Middle Tennessee State, where she was an assistant under Insell’s father. Schaefer joins the Lady Rebel’s staff after two years with Arkansas State.

        Age is just a number to Insell

        Matt Insell became the youngest head women’s basketball coach in the Southeastern Conference Thursday when he accepted Ole Miss’ offer to take over the program.

        Looking around the league at his counterparts, the 30-year-old Insell said Friday morning he doesn’t see his age as a negative. In fact, he doesn’t think about his age much at all. (more…) (March 29, 2013)

              No. 10 Kentucky pounds OM on Senior Night

              Ole Miss proved to be the most gracious of hosts prior to Thursday’s opening tip by presenting Kentucky seniors A’Dia Mathies and Brittany Henderson with flowers on Senior Night.

                  Landers wins 900th game as UGA tops OM

                  Jasmine Hassell had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Georgia’s Andy Landers earned his 900th coaching victory as the No. 19 Lady Bulldogs defeated Ole Miss 73-54 Sunday at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum.

                  Landers has 818 wins with Georgia (23-4 overall, 11-3 SEC) and had 82 at Roane State prior to taking over Georgia’s program. The NCAA does not recognize his 82 wins at Roane State, a junior college located in Tennessee.

                    OM set to begin another national coaching search

                    The Ole Miss administration feels it has waited long enough to begin the search for the next Lady Rebels basketball coach.

                    Tuesday, the university listed the job on its Department of Human Resources website with two weeks remaining in the 2012-13 season.
