Memphis visits Oxford Sunday

The Ole Miss soccer team continues its season with another weekend of split matches. Ole Miss plays at Kennesaw State tonight before returning home to host the Memphis Tigers on Sunday. The match against Memphis is set for 7 p.m. (September 13, 2013, Page 7A)

        Lady ‘Dores get glimpse of future

        AMORY — The Lafayette Lady Commodores may have gotten a glimpse of their future Thursday night.

        Leading the home Amory Lady Panthers onto the pitch was senior Addie Forbus, a future Ole Miss soccer player fresh off setting the state’s career goal mark (228) last week.

        Meanwhile, LHS freshman Ally Houghton, a soft-spoken sniper in her own right, appears poised to pick up where Forbus leaves off and make her own mark on the Magnolia State. (more…) (January 25, 2013, Page 10A)

              Top-seeded Florida edges Lady Rebs in SEC tourney

              ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Erin Emerson notched her first goal of the season in the 81st minute to pull the Ole Miss Lady Rebels into a tie with top-seeded Florida at the Southestern Conference Tournament on Wednesday night. The tie didn’t turn into a lead for the Lady Rebels, who lost 2-1 to the Lady Gators and were eliminated from the SEC Tournament. Ole Miss fell to 13-9 overall, while Florida improved to 15-4-1.                     Freshmen pace Ole Miss in 2-0 victory over Kentucky

                    A pair of freshmen came up big on Sunday afternoon to help put the Ole Miss Lady Rebels back in the win column as they defeated Kentucky 2-0 at the Ole Miss Soccer stadium. The victory improved the Lady Rebels to 10-5 overall and 3-5 in the Southeastern Conference. Kentucky fell to 8-5-1 and 3-4-1.

                    After two weeks on the road where the offense got several opportunities but couldn’t convert the shots into goals, the two goals on Sunday from area products keyed the Ole Miss win. Sara Coleman, a Laurel native, put the Lady Rebels on the board with her first half goal, while Memphis native Olivia Harrison capped the scoring for Ole Miss with a second-half goal. (October 8, 2012, Page 3B)
