    The Mississippians reload at the Ole Miss band hall tonight

    OXFORD TOWN – Oxford and Ole Miss are in for a rare treat tonight (Thursday, Nov. 3) as the Mississippians take the UM Band Hall stage at 8. The performance is a warm-up for the band’s participation in The Jazz Education Network Conference to be held in Louisville, Ky., beginning Jan. 4, 2012, where they are scheduled to perform a 50 minute set. Page 5 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town has information about the group and what to expect at tonight’s show.       Annual benefit concert Tuesday

      OXFORD TOWN – Comprised of both the symphonic band and followed by the wind ensemble, The Pride of the South Ole Miss band will hold its annual benefit concert at the Gertrude C. Ford Center on Tuesday, April 27. Admission is free, but the band continues to accept donations to its scholarship endowment. (April 22, 2010, Page 5)
