Final plan for new hoops arena nearing
Construction and the improvement to existing athletic facilities were two things Ole Miss Athletics Director Pete Boone took time out to discuss during a nearly hour long meeting with the media on Thursday. A finalized plan on building a new basketball arena to replace C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum is expected to be released later in the summer, Boone said, and the goal is to have the Rebels and Lady Rebels playing in the new building by 2015. Texas transfer giving Lady Rebels a big boost

Ole Miss rebounds to hold off Bears
OLE MISS SOFTBALL — After gaining a large 6-1 lead, the Ole Miss softball team ended up having to scrap for its 7-6 victory over the Central Arkansas Bears at the Ole Miss Softball Complex on Wednesday. Hines an inspiration for OM softball team
Haley Hines, a patient at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, threw out the ceremonial first pitch Friday at the start of the Red & Blue Classic. Hines was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a type of cancerous brain tumor, in Sept. 2009 and moved to Memphis with her family from Florida to receive treatment. (March 1, 2010, Page 10)
