Four Ole Miss teams have been recognized among the elite academic programs in the country in their sport with the NCAA’s announcement of the public recognition awards on Thursday.     Former Rebel struggles in opening round

    MEMPHIS — An autograph request from a young fan on his way to the driving range had to slightly improve the way Vance Veazey was feeling after his first round of play at the FedEx St. Jude Classic on Thursday evening.

    The former Ole Miss golfer from Memphis had a disappointing opening round at TPC Southwind course, shooting a 3-over 73, a score that actually made him feel somewhat relieved considering how few birdie chances he had during the day. (June 10, 2011, Page 8A)

      Ole Miss golfers underway at NCAA East Regional

      The Ole Miss men’s golf team opened play in the NCAA East Regional on  Thursday at the Pete Dye River Course with sophomore Chad Bounds shooting a 74 to lead the Rebels.
