McFarland can’t lead Lady Rebs past Lamar

Acting head coach Brett Frank has said several times Valencia McFarland’s job is to ensure wins by showing up in multiple areas on the score sheet.

Monday, Ole Miss’ All-Southeastern Conference guard barely found her way onto the scoresheet as the Lady Rebels fell to Lamar 85-71 at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum.

In 29 minutes, the junior registered just three points on 1 of 8 shooting from the floor. (November 20, 2012, Page 8)

      Rebels crack under pressure from Vanderbilt

      With all the ice thrown on the floor during Vanderbilt’s 102-76 win over Ole Miss at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum Thursday night — the game had to be stopped twice due to cups being thrown from the student section — some should have been tossed on a couple of Rebels to help them chill out. (February 17, 2012, Page 6A)

        March madness – even with three more teams

        Increasing the field for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships from 65 to 68 teams made the job of picking the teams much easier for the selection committee, right?
