Laquon Treadwell, the nation’s top wide receiver prospect, is closing in on his decision. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Illinois native will make his verbal pledge public at a ceremony Thursday evening at his high school. His mother, Tami Treadwell, confirmed the announcement date and time during a phone interview Monday night.
Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma are the three finalists vying to sign the Crete-Monee High standout who was named the Chicago Tribune Player of the Year this past season. One of Oxford’s most versatile football players, Macarel Hickinbottom, signed a scholarship offer to play for Northeast Mississippi Community College Thursday.
