Lafayette fans who are planning to travel to New Albany for the Commodores’ second Region 2-4A road game of the season will want to get there early. With both teams relying heavily on the running game to move the football, Friday’s game should move pretty fast.

NEW ALBANY — Oxford’s successful summer baseball season didn’t end the way coach Chris Baughman or his Chargers were hoping. After earning a first-round bye following a win in the final game of the Oxford Regional of the NEMCABB Tournament, the Chargers were eliminated Tuesday by Amory at BNA Park.
Oxford started its day on a high note with a 12-0 win over New Albany but shortly after lunch, the Chargers were packing up their gear until next spring due to a 4-2 loss to the Panthers. (June 27, 2012, Page 7)
