NASA inspires students to consider careers in space

Oxford Intermediate School was visited by NASA officials on Thursday. The space program made the students aware of their newest and most powerful rocket as well as all the jobs that students could eventually fill to make the flight into space. (November 3, 2014, Page 1)

    Students begin first year of Center for Manufacturing Excellence

    The Center for Manufacturing Excellence – an interdisciplinary program that brings together the Schools of Engineering, Accountancy, and Business Administration at the University of Mississippi is reportedly the only undergraduate program of its kind in the country. The program is off to a good start with 27 students enrolled and more are expected as the nearby Toyota plant opens. (August 25, 2010, Page 1)

        NASA Night in Your Neighborhood

        Representatives from NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center will visit the Powerhouse Community Arts Center Monday from 5-7 p.m. with free activities and displays. The group will do a presentation on living and working in space, as well as educational activities and an astronaut ice-cream-tasting station. (March 26, 2010, Page 2B)
