Body found could be missing man
The body of a man found Sunday afternoon in Lafayette County could be that of McKenzie Darrell “Rell” Frierson, who has been missing since Jan. 31, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. (March 4, 2013, Page 1A, 5A)

Autry gets new lawyer
A man accused of shooting and killing his brother and holding his father hostage for several hours was given a new attorney and more time before heading for trial during a hearing on Friday at the Lafayette County Courthouse.

Guilty plea in beating death
Willie A. Canon, 25, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Lafayette County resident Derald “Pete” Connell. Canon pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and simple murder Wednesday at the Lafayette County Courthouse. (January 6, 2011, Page 1)
Killer on the loose in county shooting
It’s been almost eight months and investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department are still racking their brains to come up with new evidence in the murder of Frank Bowie. Investigator Scott Mills said, “we’re just not getting that many calls. Murder suspect seeks delay
An attorney representing murder suspect Caleb Corrothers will be asking the court to continue his trial slated for July 26.

Appeal denied again for Williams
Convicted killer David Jackson Williams has been denied for a second time by the Mississippi Court of Appeals.

Wife given bond in husband’s murder
Justice Court Judge Mickey Avent granted Lou Ann White with a $100,000 bond during her first-appearance hearing Thursday afternoon; she had not posted bond as of this morning. (April 9, 2010, Page 2A)
Wife charged in death
Henry White, 60, was found at his Highway 7 South home with multiple and extensive wounds all over his body, according to Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy. He was dead by the time deputies arrived at about 1:30 p.m. His wife, Lou Ann White has been charged with his murder. (April 8, 2010, Page 1)
