Local officers honored for DUI arrests
Three Oxford police officers were honored recently for keeping the roads safer by getting drunk drivers off of them.
The awards were presented April 27 by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the state Office of Highway Safety to DUI officers David Sabin, Hildon Sessums and Chris Ray. (May 10, 2011, Page 2)
Concerns with autopsy delay
Concerns are growing over the time it takes for autopsies to be performed by the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Jackson. Some families are waiting more than a week to get their loved one’s body returned home for the funeral and 30 to 60 days for the report to be mailed so they can collect insurance money to help pay for the funeral.
