More search teams join effort to find teen

Stephen Tyler Emerick, the Lafayette County teen, is still missing after more than two days of searching. Search and rescue teams were back out on the Yocona River this morning in the rain attempting to locate Emerick who has been missing since leaving work at 8 p.m. Monday. His truck was found Wednesday morning near the Grinder’s Switch area near Taylor, parked near the river. (May 3, 2013, Page 1A)

    Search for missing teen continues

    The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and area search and rescue teams were back out this morning in the Grinder Switch area searching for missing 19-year-old Stephen Tyler Emerick.

      *BREAKING NEWS* Lafayette teen missing

      The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing a teen.
      Stephen Tyler Emerick, 19, was last seen around 8 p.m. Monday when he left his job at Ashley’s Furniture early because he was feeling sick.
      His truck was located this morning in the woods about 300-feet from Highway 328 just outside of Taylor. The ignition was on and his cell phone and wallet were still inside the truck.
      Emerick, who is known to friends as Tyler, is described as about 140 pounds, 5-feet, 5-inches tall with red hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt. He has a Ducks Unlimited tattoo on his left arm. His mother, Samantha Clark, said her son never did anything like this before and has no medical or mental conditions that would cause him to wander off.
