Chargers clip Jackets to win 5A series

There have been bigger crowds turn out to watch games in the history of Oxford-University Stadium but the atmosphere and the post-game celebration demonstrated by the Oxford Chargers on Monday is going to be hard for the Ole Miss Rebels to top. Playing their first game in O-U Stadium since 2004, the Chargers defeated Starkville 3-1 in the decisive third game of a best-of-three MHSAA Class 5A series. (more…) (May 7, 2013, Page 8)

    OHS drives home latest title with balanced effort

          Chargers explode on Titans in series opener

          RIDGELAND — Oxford’s most explosive offensive inning of the season couldn’t have come at a better time. Down 4-2 to Ridgeland, the defending Class 5A champions, at Titan Field, the Chargers rallied by scoring seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 9-4 lead, their first of the game.
          Oxford went on to hold a shocked group of Titans in place the rest of the way and earn an 11-5 win in the first game of a best-of-three 5A playoff series that continues tonight at Oxford’s Edwin Moak Field at 6. (April 27, 2012, Page 6A)

            Big inning leads McComb past Oxford
