Watson returns to tennis court

The last time Judson Watson stepped on to the tennis court and swung his racquet in a match that really, really mattered was when he and mixed doubles teammate Cari Hansen closed out the Chargers’ fifth straight state championship with a thrilling win over Stone County.     Lafayette’s Davis signs on with Meridian CC

    Consistency and the ability to play both singles and doubles has earned Lafayette’s Mallory Davis a scholarship offer from Meridian Community College. Davis made her commitment to coach Wanda McPhail binding Monday when she signed her Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles.

    McPhail, who has guided MCC women’s team to eight Region 23 titles since 2003, said Davis was the only women’s player she has offered and subsequently signed this year. (April 17, 2012, Page 6)
