    Pontotoc ends Lafayette’s season

    Lafayette’s run in the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs came to an end Monday with a 6-1 loss to Pontotoc at the courts behind Oxford-University Stadium.

    The young Commodores, who only lose one senior, finished the year 7-6 overall.

      LHS tennis bests Cleveland

      Lafayette’s youth didn’t show on the tennis court Tuesday as the Commodores defeated Cleveland 4-3 on the road in the first round of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs. LHS coach Debbie Swindoll praised her team’s effort, labeling the win a great accomplishment. (more…) (April 17, 2013, Page 9)

        ‘Dores advance four to state tournament

        The Lafayette High boys doubles team of Jacob Roberts and Hunter Knight and the mixed doubles team of Brett Bowen and Abby Arrington advanced to the individual MHSAA state tournament next month by finishing second at Tuesday’s Division 2-4A tournament in New Albany.           Chargers cap perfect regular season

          Oxford capped off a perfect regular season on the court Monday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Lafayette at Avent Park. The Chargers, now 16-0 heading into the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs, feature a senior class that is 116-2 during their career and Monday’s match with the Commodores was Senior Day.
