Lafayette’s eighth-grade football team continued to roll over teams as they posted a 16-0 win over South Panola Thursday night.
The Lafayette Middle School football teams split a pair of games with Charleston Tuesday night. The Commodores and Tigers tied 0-0 in the seventh-grade game, while the older Commodores defeated the Tigers 16-6 to improve to 3-0 on the year. (more…) (September 8, 2010, Page 9)
The Chargers won the seventh-grade game 26-6, while the Commodores took the eighth-grade game in the nightcap 16-0. (September 1, 2010, Page 7)
The seventh-grade Commodores defeated the Warriors 8-6 in the first game, while the eighth-graders earned a 14-0 shutout in the nightcap.
Tuesday’s first game was scoreless until two seconds remained in the first half when Lafayette’s Zeke Liggins scored on a 5-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was supplied on a run by Quin’chaun Jones. Senatobia made things interesting late as it scored at the 2:30 mark of the second half. After a low turnout for registration last month, Lafayette Middle School is trying again to have students register for the upcoming school year. Registration will be held in the LMS counseling center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (June 4, 2010, Page 10A)
