Lafayette’s softball team pounded out 18 hits and used a great defensive performance to back up the pitching of Kelsey Kesler in a 17-0 win over Center hill Tuesday night. (March 24, 2010, Page 8A)

    LHS softball defeats Cleveland

    A Spring Break roadtrip to Cleveland resulted in a 5-2 win for the Lafayette Lady Commodores softball team Tuesday. LHS scored three runs in the top of the sixth and then two more runs in the seventh to post the victory. (more…) (March 17, 2010, Page 8A)

      LHS softball rolls past North Pontotoc

      An 11-run seventh inning broke open a close game and ultimately lifted the Lafayette Lady Commodores to a 15-2 win over North Pontotoc in girls softball action Friday.         Lafayette’s Robinson signs with NWCC

        Lafayette pitcher Stormy Robinson has signed a scholarship offer to play for Northwest Mississippi Community College. Robinson transfered back to LHS after two years at South Panola because she wanted to graduate with the class she was originally in. Robinson gained a lot from the transfer, including extra recognition from colleges during South Panola’s 2008 state title run. (March 5, 2010, Page 7A)

          Kesler has special touch for LHS

          Lafayette sophomore Kelsey Kesler was huge in the Lady Commodores’ 14-10 win over Bruce Thursday night. Not only did she hit a three-run home run and go 4-for-4  with five RBIs at the plate, but she also earned the win in relief. (March 5, 2010, Page 7A)

            Raymond knocks off LHS in Jackson

            LAFAYETTE GIRLS HOOPS — Lafayette’s dream season came to an unfortunate end, as the Lady Commodores fell to the Raymond Lady Rangers 71-64 at the Mississippi Coliseum on Monday. Junior Shaquilla Isom led LHS with 22 points, while junior Nikki McChristian chipped in 17. (March 2, 2010, Page 8)

                Buford steps up again for Lafayette

                  LHS, New Albany feeling no pressure

                  LHS GIRLS HOOPS — The Lafayette Lady Commodores continue their run through the post-season tonight, facing New Albany in the Class 4A North Half finals. The Lady Bulldogs were the only the only team to defeat Lafayette during the regular season. (February 22, 2010, Page 8)

                    Teamwork leads Lafayette to title game

                    LHS GIRLS HOOPS — The Lafayette Lady Commodores used a late rally in regulation to force overtime before eventually knocking off Humphreys County 69-62 in the Class 4A North Half semifinals Saturday. The team bested Amory 64-44 on Friday. (February 22, 2010, Page 8)
