Westbrook leads Lady ‘Dores past CHS

Lafayette’s matchup with the Coffeeville Lady Pirates Saturday afternoon in the “O” Town Showdown came down to defense and the play of junior guard Janae Westbrook. With Coffeeville heating up from deep late in the contest, some late-game heroics from Westbrook on offense and a couple of key stops on defense led to a 62-53 win for the Lady Commodores. (December 31, 2012, Page 7)

    Lady ‘Dores can’t hold on to top Bruce

    In years past, the Lafayette girls basketball team made a name for itself by flying up and down the court and out-hustling opponents.
    That athleticism often translated into bushels of points and plenty of wins. Thursday night, LHS coach Amy Sutton thought her team went too fast for its own good at times during its 46-39 loss to Bruce at the Lafayette gym. (November 16, 2012, Page 6A)

                Lady Commodores roll to 2-4A semifinals

                NEW ALBANY — The Tunica-Rosa Fort Lady Lions found out real quick Tuesday what a fruitless endeavor it is to try and run with the Lafayette Lady Commodores.
                After playing with Lafayette for five minutes in the first game of the Division 2-4A Tournament at the New Albany High gym, the Lady Commodores quickly put together 22 unanswered points en route to a 65-44 victory. (February 8, 2012, Page 7)
