Sutton leaving LHS for administration job

For the first time in nearly a decade, Lafayette High School is in the market for a new head girls basketball coach. Amy Sutton is leaving the Lafayette County School district to become the assistant principal at Batesville Middle School, ending a successful eight-year run in charge of the Lady Commodores’ program. (April 17, 2014, Page 8)

    Lady ‘Dores can’t hold on to top Bruce

    In years past, the Lafayette girls basketball team made a name for itself by flying up and down the court and out-hustling opponents.
    That athleticism often translated into bushels of points and plenty of wins. Thursday night, LHS coach Amy Sutton thought her team went too fast for its own good at times during its 46-39 loss to Bruce at the Lafayette gym. (November 16, 2012, Page 6A)

      Lady Commodores roll to 2-4A semifinals

      NEW ALBANY — The Tunica-Rosa Fort Lady Lions found out real quick Tuesday what a fruitless endeavor it is to try and run with the Lafayette Lady Commodores.
      After playing with Lafayette for five minutes in the first game of the Division 2-4A Tournament at the New Albany High gym, the Lady Commodores quickly put together 22 unanswered points en route to a 65-44 victory. (February 8, 2012, Page 7)
