Three arrested for burglary spree



The Oxford Police Department, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and the Metro Narcotics Unit have arrested three men for several burglaries around the city and county. Each face 12 counts of burglary and one count of possession of more than 1 ounce of marijuana with the intent to distribute. They are being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center. LHS senior dies in car wreck
A Lafayette High School senior, John Mills, 18, was killed Saturday night when his car went off the side of the road on CR 325 at about 10:30 p.m. for unknown reasons. A candlelight vigil is being held in his memory at 7 p.m. tonight at the high school. (September 17, 2012, Page 1A)
Rash of car burglaries reported

Taylor man dead after being hit by car
A Taylor man is the second area resident to be hit and killed while walking on the side of the road in the last week. However, law enforcement is saying the two are not connected.
