        Local teams get shot at ultimate goal

        High school football teams in Mississippi have several goals: making the playoffs, practicing Thanksgiving week when school is out, earning a trip to Jackson for the state finals and, ultimately, winning a state championship. The two local teams, Oxford’s Chargers  and Lafayette’s Commodores, both get a shot at the ultimate goal – in the same season and on the same day – this weekend. (December 4, 2013, Page 4)

          ‘Dores blank Tigers for 6th straight win

          Another strong defensive performance for the Lafayette Commodores led to another win in the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs. The Commodores won their sixth straight game, shutting out the visiting Noxubee County Tigers 9-0 at William L.
