OHS aims for region title; LHS, WVHS look to stay on a roll

There is plenty to play for for the area’s three high school football teams this week.
Oxford, the state’s fifth-ranked overall team, will host Clarksdale for the outright Region 1-5A title Friday night while Class 3A No. 5 Water Valley needs a victory over Independence to keep pace atop the Region 2-3A standings. Lafayette has to win its final two games beginning with Senatobia to get one of Region 2-4A’s three playoff berths. (October 25, 2013, Page 6A)

        Chargers set pace at Corinth meet

              LHS sweeps Choctaw Co. out of playoffs

              BLOG — It took Lafayette just three sets to get back where it was in last year’s playoffs.

              The Lady Commodores swept Choctaw County 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-16) in their MHSAA Class I first-round playoff tilt Saturday morning at the LHS gymnasium to set up a second-round matchup with Region 2′s top seed, Belmont, on Tuesday. (more…) (October 19, 2013)
