          Commodore pitchers shut down Grenada

          Lafayette’s pitching staff earned two shutouts over Grenada in middle school baseball action Monday night at W.V. Brewer Field. Lafayette earned a 8-0 win in the first game of the doubleheader while the two battled to a 0-0 tie in the nightcap. (March 9, 2010, Page 8)

              Commodores win 4A North Half title

              Another surprisingly strong performance turned into another victory for the Lafayette boys powerlifting team Saturday in the Class 4A North Half meet. The Commodores won their third-straight meet by totaling 36 points, five points more than Itawamba AHS, to capture their first North Half title in the program’s history. (March 8, 2010, Page 7A)

                LHS pitcher throws no-hitter

                LAFAYETTE BASEBALL — Lafayette senior right-hander Matt Taylor pitched a complete-game, no hitter Tuesday in the Commodores’ 10-0 win over South Pontotoc  at W.V. Brewer Field. Taylor finished the game with seven strikeouts and he was just two walks away from having a perfect game to his credit. (March 2, 2010, Page 8)
