Practice leads to one-sided win for LHS

The Lafayette baseball team proved on Friday night that good practices can be parlayed into big-time games.

Led by right-hander Cody Grey on the mound, Lafayette run-ruled Senatobia 11-1 in five innings at W.V. Brewer Field. (March 28, 2011, Page 2B)

    ‘Dores defeat Senatobia in region opener

    Led by a complete-game pitching effort from Jarrett Patton, the Lafayette Commodores baseball team defeated Senatobia 2-1 Tuesday night. Patton finished with seven strikeouts against just two walks for LHS (9-2 overall). (more…)

          Pitching propels ‘Dores to double-dip success

          It wasn’t that the Diamond ‘Dores racked up 12 runs in two victories on Wednesday that impressed Lafayette head coach Greg Lewis.

              Former ‘Dore leads Blue Mountain to win

              Former Lafayette High baseball standout Hunter Mize had a great individual game in leading Blue Mountain to a 5-4 win over Bethel University this past Friday. The victory was the first TranSouth Atlantic Conference win for Blue Mountain, who just added baseball this past offseason. Mize drove in two of the five runs and picked up the save in relief. (March 15, 2011, Page 9)

                Lafayette powers its way past Tigers
