LHS baseball camp June 10-12
Lafayette will hold its annual baseball camp June 10-12 at W.V. Brewer Field from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp is for kids ages 6-13. Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt. Campers can register the first morning of the camp. (May 16, 2013, Page 9)
NECC Tigers top Gulf
The Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers advanced to the MACJC state baseball tournament thanks to two wins over Gulf Coast Monday. Little things add up to win for LHS
IUKA — Doing all the little things right, like putting down a squeeze bunt, playing great defense and not making critical mistakes like coach Patrick Robey stressed to his Commodores paid off for them Thursday night. Lafayette won the first game of its MHSAA Class 4A baseball playoff series opener against Tishomingo County 5-3 thanks in large part to the way it handled things late. ‘Dores ready to do more in 4A playoffs
Last season a young Lafayette Commodore baseball team made some noise in the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs by advancing to the North Half title series. Vikings rally to post 5-4 win over ‘Dores
Lafayette’s 5-4 loss to North Pontotc at W.V. Brewer Field boiled down to not producing enough offense during the course of the game. While the Commodores scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh, and had two runners in scoring position with the chance to win the game, not scoring runs in the first six frames came back to haunt them. Hollis whiffs eight in Lafayette victory
After facing each other earlier in the week, the Lafayette Commodores and Senatobia Warriors hooked up for a rematch Friday night, this time at WV Brewer Field. The Commodores won Tuesday’s game 11-1, and while the offensive surge was not there on Friday, Lafayette defeated the Warriors for the second time in four days with a 6-1 victory.
Senatobia senior pitcher Davis Brown kept the Commodores’ offense in check through most of the game.
Lafayette clobbers Clarksdale
There was no funny business at W.V. Brewer Field on April Fools’ Day.
