Johnny Cash

Country Boy Rolling Stone Releases new album

OXFORD TOWN – That’s W.S. “Fluke Holland to the left. Holland was Johnny Cash’s  longtime drummer and one of the original Tennessee Three. He, along with several Oxford Musicians, recently recorded a new album with Country Boy Rolling Stone entitled “Honky Tonking Too Long.” The project, inspired by the late Jim Dickinson and formed by Grenada resident Bill Crowder, has ties and sounds reminiscent of  Cash. Page 5 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town has Jeff McVay’s coverage of the very cool new CD that’s loaded and top-heavy with Oxford musicians and legends. (September 2, 2010, Page 5)

    Visiting the Tupelo Automobile Museum

OXFORD TOWNIf you’re looking for a fun day trip out of Oxford, look no further than the Tupelo Automobile Museum. Located in the heart of downtown Tupelo, the museum boasts three centuries of automotive rarities from an 1886 Benz to present day Toyota. But that’s not all. The museum rotates other exhibits continually – exhibits such as one featuring Elvis Presley memorabilia and, currently, a Marty Stuart exhibit. (March 4, 2010, Page 15)
