Red-hot Redbirds end Rebs’ season
Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy didn’t have to look at the stat sheet after Wednesday night’s game to know that Illinois State had just shot the lights out from floor and behind the 3-point arc. About the only thing Kennedy was unsure about was whether the 17 3-pointers the Redbirds made was C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum record or not.
Unfortunately for Kennedy and the Rebels, the 17 makes were a new arena record, for any team, and the end result of the hot-shooting night for the Redbirds was a 96-93 overtime loss for the Rebels in the first round of the Men’s National Invitation Tournament. (March 15, 2012, Page 6)
