NEMEPA head to retire this month

Bob Collier has had his fair share of challenges while serving as general manager of North East Mississippi Electric Power Association, but none as great as the 1994 ice storm. Collier is set to retire after 23 years with NEMEPA at the end of the month. (January 20, 2014, Page 1)

    Cold, wet and icy weather expected

    Lafayette County will be under a winter weather advisory starting at noon Friday and running through about 9 p.m. National Weather Service Meteorologist Zach Maye said Lafayette County could see about a quarter-inch of ice accumulating on trees and power lines Friday afternoon. (December 5, 2013, Page 1, 2)

        Oxford under ice storm warning

        The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning for Lafayette County until 6 a.m. Wednesday. The possible severe winter weather has forced most schools in the area to close as well as canceling or changing events and public meetings. A quarter to a half inch of ice accumulation is expected.
