Driver gets 12 years in Wheats’ deaths

On the day after what would have been Sarah Wheats’ 24th birthday, her family spent Monday morning at the Lafayette County Courthouse where the man responsible for her death, and the death of her brother John William Wheat, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. (September 24, 2013, Page 1, 2)

    Wrongful death suit filed in siblings’ death

    The mother of a brother and sister killed last year in a wreck has filed a lawsuit against the driver, John H. Strickland Jr., who is facing two counts of aggravated DUI for being under the influence of drugs and other substances when he slammed into the vehicle, killing John and Sarah Wheat. (May 9, 2013, Page 1A, 5A)

      Strickland DUI at time of wreck
