OXFORD TOWN – EDUganda (formerly Hope for Africa established in 2007) is an organization touting a mission of providing basic opportunities to the people of Uganda — more specifically, ensuring that Ugandan children are given access to quality education. On Friday night (Feb 24), The Blind Pig will play host to a concert benefitting the humanitarian group. Local bands Aerial Attack and The Da Vincis will provide the jam. Hope for Africa is having its biannual yard sale Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise money to help the to support its various efforts in Uganda. The sale will be held at 517 North 11th Street.
Through its partner organization in Uganda, the Friends in Need Integrated Development Project, Hope for Africa sponsors students, fosters HIV/AIDS peer-educators clubs and supports revolving livestock projects.
