Death investigated as homicide

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department has positively identified a body found Sunday near FNC Park in a creek was that of West Springhill resident McKenzie Darrell Frierson and has ruled the death a homicide. (March 5, 2013, Page 1)

    Wright’s mother hopes to raise reward money

    Deborah Marion is hoping to raise $100,000 to offer as an award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing her son, Lafayette County native Lorenzen Wright.

    Wright, 34, was last seen by family members July 19; three days later he was reported missing. Wright’s body was found July 28 in a wooded area just outside Memphis. His death was ruled a homicide by gunshot wounds. (September 21, 2010, Page 1)

      County man killed in his car

      Willie Frank Bowie, 83, was apparently killed while in his vehicle which was parked just a few feet away from his home. Bowie’s body was discovered at about 7:25 Monday morning. Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department officials are investigating the death as a homicide. (January 12, 2010, Page 1)
