Gridiron Rebels land former Seminole DT
Ole Miss didn’t just earn a 41-20 win over Auburn Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the Rebels also gained a verbal commitment from a player at a need spot. East Mississippi Community College defensive tackle Darious Cummings (6-foot-3, 310-pounds) became the Rebels’ 20th pledge for the 2013 signing class when he verbally committed Sunday morning following his official visit to Oxford. Williams qualifies for 200 at NCAA meet
Former Oxford High sprinter Horatio Williams qualified for the 200 meter dash Thursday at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Williams, who is a senior at Florida State, was in the second heat of competitors and advanced to the finals with a time of 20.69 seconds. Williams was also a member of the 4×100 relay team that qualified for the finals by finishing first in Heat 1 with a time of 38.81. (June 8, 2012, Page 7A)
