Morning fire destroys home

About 19 firefighters with the Lafayette County Volunteer Fire Department responded to 852 Highway 30 East this morning to the home of Freddie Pinion of Alfa Insurance. The house was engulfed in flames, but Pinion and his family — including two children — made it out of the house safely.

Roy said the cause of the fire is unknown as of this morning, but County Fire Marshal Darren Roy will investigate to determine how the blaze started. (January 13, 2011, Page 1)

While The Lanes bowling alley has been released to an insurance company by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the investigation into what caused the massive blaze that destroyed Oxford’s bowling alley continues.
