            Empty Bowls postponed

            Organizers have postponed Thursday’s Empty Bowls fundraiser until Monday due to snow. The annual event invites community members to purchase a handmade bowl and a lunch of soup and bread for $15 to benefit The Pantry, Oxford’s community food bank. (February 9, 2011)

              Empty Bowls fills hungry stomachs

              The eighth annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for The Pantry will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Oxford-University United Methodist Church.

              Last year the event raised more than $15,000 for The Pantry — a nonprofit organization that began in 1982 to provide food on an emergency basis to eligible residents in Lafayette County and is staffed by volunteers. (February 8, 2011, Page 3A)
