Angel Ranch struggles with direction
As most in the Pine Flat community, Angel Ranch is also trying to rebuild as it continues to try to lend a helping hand to tornado victims.

Governor signs law designed to help victims
A domestic violence-related bill was signed into law recently by Gov. Haley Barbour that will make it a misdemeanor criminal offense for someone to prevent a victim from seeking emergency medical or law enforcement assistance. (March 1, 2011, Page 1)
New laws to help domestic violence victims
When there’s a domestic assault involving the use of hands — smacking, kicking or hitting — the abuser is generally charged with simple assault. When a weapon of any kind is involved, the abuser can be charged with aggravated assault which is a felony offense.
A new bill signed by Gov. Haley Barbour now allows strangulation to be considered an aggravated assault. (April 30, 2010, Page 1A)
