OHS bounces back to trounce Wildcats
The Oxford Chargers got the bad taste of losing to New Hope out of their mouths Friday night with a 37-13 win over Clarksdale at Bobby Holcomb Field. The win improved the Chargers to 4-2 overall and an even more important 1-1 in Region 1-5A.
OHS coach Johnny Hill felt his Chargers played “pretty well” against the Wildcats (3-3, 1-1). (October 4, 2010, Page 4B)
Chargers looking for improvement Friday
Want to know how far of a hike it is from Oxford High School to Bramlett Elementary School? Just ask any number of Chargers who because of either turning the ball over or being charged with a costly penalty during last week’s loss at New Hope, had the honor of running up Bramlett Hill in across the street from the high school following the conclusion of Wednesday’s practice.
The purpose? To alleviate the mental mistakes that cost Oxford a win in its first region game last week when they host another Region 1-5A team, Clarksdale, on Friday at 7 p.m. (September 30, 2010, Page 8)
