Oxford uses balanced attack to top CHS
Oxford rebounded from its loss to Tupelo Tuesday night in the OHS gym with a convincing 68-45 win over Charleston. Keyed by a decisive run in the first half, the Lady Chargers (6-2 overall) showed balance on offense and defense in the victory over the Lady Tigers.
OHS coach Shayne Linzy said it was good to see his team overcome an early seven-point deficit and then put the loss to Tupelo, which ended a five-game winning streak, behind them. (December 5, 2012, Page 6)

WATER VALLEY — The Water Valley Middle School football squads earned a split against regional foe Charleston on Tuesday evening at Bobby Clark Field.

Tigers too much for WVHS to tame
CHARLESTON — Water Valley’s first big test of the 2012 season produced some positive results but the final result wasn’t what coach Brad Embry and his staff were hoping for in the end.
Charleston, the defending MHSAA Class 3A state champions, delivered the Blue Devils their first loss of the season with a 35-21 triumph at Tiger Stadium on Friday night.
