Three earn Eagle Scout ranking since January
Earning the highest rank in Boy Scouts is no easy task. Nationally, statistics list that only 2 percent in earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Oxford’s Boy Scout Troup 45 is making mincemeat of that statistic by honoring three boys who earned their Eagle Scout ranking since January. Honor for ‘Preacher’ Lovelady very fitting
Family members are putting together a very fitting tribute to Morris “Preacher” Lovelady, who’s contributed so much to the Lafayette-Oxford-University community through his work on campus, with the summer baseball programs and with Boy Scouts. The “Preacher” Lovelady Silver Beaver Golf Scramble, set for July 17 at the University Golf Course, will honor Lovelady and benefit one of his favorite causes. (June 18, 2010, Page 4A)
