CVS bomb threat part of national scam

The bomb threat made to the Oxford CVS store Wednesday was one of many that have been made across the nation in an attempt to fraudulently gain money from the pharmacy. (September 18, 2014, Page 2)

    Bomb threat at CVS

    Emergency responders were dispatched to the Oxford CVS on West Jackson Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. after a bomb threat was called into the pharmacy. The store has been evacuated and according to officials, no bombs or any immediate threats have been found.

    *Update:

    Officers  secured the area and evacuated the building as well as the surrounding areas. The University Police Department was contacted to utilize their Explosive Detection K-9 to search the building and nearby vehicles.By 2:35 p.m. the command team determined the area to be safe and cleared the scene.         UM says it is prepared for bomb threats

        A bomb threat off campus directed at UM football players occurred at the same time as a threat at Arkansas State University yesterday and only one day after Louisiana State University received a bomb threat.           OPD responds to bomb threat

          Local law enforcement officers responded to Lexington Pointe apartments this morning after receiving a call through 911 dispatch from someone claiming to have put bombs under the cars of several football players living in the apartments. Nothing was found however one man was taken into custody after acting suspicious in the parking lot and having alleged stolen items from vehicles in his possession. (September 18, 2012, Page 2)
