        Abbeville gets new town hall

Despite the fact the heat wasn’t working yet, members of the Abbeville Board of Alderman and Mayor Betsy Aloway held their regular meeting in the town’s newly built Town Hall for the first time Thursday night.

Construction began on the new building in early 2010 after the original building was torn down due to termite damage. Abbeville received a $100,000 grant in 2009 from the Mississippi Development Authority for the project. (January 7, 2011, Page 1A)
