City mulls use of windfall

What would you do if you suddenly had $30 million? That is the question city leaders need to help decide along with a new Oxford Reserve and Trust Fund Committee when they receive the money from the sale of Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. The Board of Aldermen approved this week to hold $2 million of the $30 million for upcoming projects while giving $28M to the committee to invest. (August 11, 2011, Page 1A)

            A new hospital by 2016?

            Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, Oxford Board of Aldermen and Lafayette County Board of Supervisors are working to close the final sale of the hospital by July 31 with plans to have the new building ready to move in within five years. (June 21, 2011, Page 1)
