Rebels head to Auburn, looking to stay in hunt
As of right now the Diamond Rebels are in a neck-and-neck race with a slew of other Southeastern Conference foes for the right to play in the conference’s eight-team tournament in Hoover, Ala. at the end of the year.
That tournament also means admission into the NCAA Tournament, which is why this weekend’s series at Auburn should take on added meaning.

The first day for high school football prospects to sign with college programs may be 11 months away, but Lafayette quarterback Jeremy Liggins is already starting to investigate schools that have offered him a scholarship. Rebels need to finish regular season with victories, get help from others
The final week of the regular season for the Ole Miss men’s basketball team has arrived and the ultimate goal of earning a bye in the first round is still attainable for the Rebels.
Ole Miss has to be aided by Arkansas and South Carolina this week if things are going to lead to a No. 2 seed, but the most important thing the Rebels have to do is defeat Auburn Wednesday and the Razorbacks on Saturday in order for any of those other scenarios to matter. (March 1, 2011, Page 8)
