More than 1,000 try out for ‘Idol’

With over 1,000 trying out, a few from the North Mississippi area made it to the next round for “American Idol” after auditions were held at the Oxford Conference Center on Monday. (August 20, 2013, Page 1)

    Kelli Rae-Ann Coleman may not win American Idol this year, but she believes it is only a matter of time before she gets her shot at the title. Coleman, 16, went to New Orleans last week to audition for the popular talent show. (July 27, 2012, Page 3A)

      American Idol finalist has ties to Oxford

      University of Mississippi law student Blair Harden will be watching her sister, Skylar Laine, perform tonight on television to retain her position as a finalist on this season’s American Idol. Skylar’s aunt and uncle, Meri Jo and Richard Harden, also from Oxford will be glued to the television as well. The Harden family is hoping Oxford continues its support of Skylar and votes tonight during the show. (April 25, 2012, Page 3)
